What the Entire Pack is "Doing" Together...

Being COVID Safe While Having Fun

posted Mar 30, 2021, 2:42 PM by Corey Ray   [ updated Mar 30, 2021, 2:44 PM ]

Cub Scouts |  A lot has happened since September.  Our Pack have kept a very active Tiger and Bear Dens this year.   Some of our activities have included: Tree planting, ice fishing, start a fire with flint and steel, Pinewood derby, and built bird houses/tool boxes in a work shop.   All this has been accomplished without putting our parents or Scouts at risk during this pandemic.  It has been a much needed escape for our Scouts since most activities have been cancelled and schools were only open twice a week.  Up coming events include camping, service projects, and our Blue and Gold celebration.

Day Camp 2020

posted Sep 16, 2020, 1:46 PM by Corey Ray   [ updated Sep 16, 2020, 1:53 PM ]

With all the change the limitations that COVID-19 have brought on, it was rewarding to have Day Camp happen.   The Council did a good job of keeping the Packs separate, cleaning stations in between sessions, and even taking our temperatures before allowing us to enter Camp Grizzly.  For many of us who have been attending Day Camp the last few years, we felt that camp was more personally for each Pack because they were not in a rush to move us on to the next event, but rather allowed the Scout to finish projects and enjoy the archery/BB fun ranges.  Overall, it was a welcome distraction this past summer that allowed the kids to be kids again.

2020 Pinewood Derby

posted Mar 2, 2020, 4:06 PM by Corey Ray   [ updated Sep 16, 2020, 1:56 PM ]

Pack 325 held their annual Pinewood Derby race.  Lot's of Scouts and families participating in both our Scout class and open class races.   This year's Scout winners were Peyton Jo Ray, Brendan Ray, and Zeke Solomon and our three Best in Show winners were Caleb Gleason, Randy Rouch, and Jaxon Berg.  Finally, our open class winners were Luke Coldiron, followed by Brendan Ray.

Making a Pinewood Derby car is a great way for parent(s) to spend time with their child in creating something together and have fun with.  It is just one of many different ways that Scouting provides opportunity to be active as a family.
